Heroes in the 70's

James Hunt had a natural talent and lots of flair. He was not a typical racing driver but more of a playboy who lived life in the fastlane. James was also a good boxer (see the videos for proof).

Sit back, relax and grab a beer and be surprised:

Lord Alexander Hesketh

Lord Alexander Hesketh ended up with a small fortune after Formula One. The trouble was that he started of with a big fortune. However team Hesketh problably had the most fun of all the teams ever involved in Formula One. Who else had a team owner called "Le Patron", a team manager called "Bubbles" (as in Champagne bubbles), a designer called "the Doctor" and a mechanic called "Ball of string" as that was the only thing he had in his toolbox when he came for the job interview.

Here is a video:

Colin Chapman

Colin Chapman was a genius, design engineer, inventor, and builder in the automotive industry, and founder of Lotus Cars.

His knowledge of the latest aeronatical engineering techniques would prove vital towards achieving the major automotive technical advances he is remembered for. He was famous for saying "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere". Under his direction, Team Lotus won seven Formula One Constructors titles, six Drivers Championships, and the Indianapolis 500 in the US, between 1962 and 1978. The production side of Lotus Cars has built tens of thousands of cutting edge sports cars.
